Education

One of the goals of the CWFSC is to educate our residents and property owners about how to make their homes and property more defensible in the event of a fire.  Another goal is to provide information about how to evacuate or find safe zones if a wildfire occurs.  This page provides information about these things.

Make Your Home and Property Fire Safe

Wildfire Urban Interface Workshop Notes -
click here .  The purpose of this workshop was to teach the principles used by firefighters in suppressing wildland fire and/or protecting structures in the Wildland Urban Interface. This is valuable for you to learn how firefighters make a decision on whether your house can be saved during a wildfire (that is, if it is defensible) or if it cannot be.

Keep Community Roads Accessible

Emergency responders will not come down your road to reach your house if they cannot see if the road ahead is free from fire or whether they will be able to turn around when they reach your house.  For this reason, controlling over-grown vegetation in the road right of way is a top priority for CWFSC.

Evacuation Procedures
